It’s definitely more challenging – Shreyas Iyer on international cricket

Iyer said that international cricket is a different challenge compared to IPL. He believes that a tour like England will help the young players improve as they face stronger bowling attacks, tough conditions and more pressure. He said each series at this level provides an important learning experience.

“It’s also a great platform for them to experience international cricket where the cricket is not the same as we play in the IPL, but it is definitely more challenging, there are more eyes on you and the group of bowlers we play. More professional than what we experience in the IPL, so I am sure there is a learning opportunity there as well.”

India will begin their five-match T20I series against England after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Ireland. This tour will be an important opportunity for Iyer’s team to make a comeback.
