Amid controversies and allegations of sexual assault on a minor, RCB fast bowler Yash Dayal married social media influencer Shweta Pundir. The video of their wedding on Pundir’s Instagram page surprised everyone.
Yash Dayal was probably going through the best phase of his career as he became a key member of the RCB attack when they won their first IPL title. His bowling antics could have earned him an India call-up, but character on the field doesn’t count all the time.
The cricketer was booked under charges of rape by a minor girl. As per the strict laws of the POCSO Act, which ensures strict punishment for crimes against children, he was repeatedly denied anticipatory bail.

The charges against the Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer have not been proved yet, due to which the investigation is ongoing, but the court granted bail to Dayal in January 2026.
Although Dayal has not made a comeback in any format of competitive cricket, and his return will be difficult following the serious charges, he remains a vital part of the RCB setup, especially after the participation of their frontline fast bowler Josh Hazlewood remains a major uncertainty.
Dayal, along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, will be one of India’s two leading fast bowling options for RCB; However, Rasikh Dar will also be kept on the bench in his place, as he will have to prepare himself for any adverse situation.
