Star Sports and JioHotstar have revealed their commentary panel for the upcoming Tata IPL season. They have selected over 160 voices in multiple languages streaming in India. Former CSK star Ravichandran Ashwin has also officially joined the IPL commentary panel.
The IPL will be entering its 19th edition of the tournament, and in these 18 editions, many players have played in the IPL. He then joined the competition as a commentator and lent his voice to bring the epic energy of the region to the screen.
Former Chennai Super Kings player Ravichandran Ashwin has starred in the IPL in the last 18 seasons. He has played for the Super Kings in all seasons of the IPL since the 2008 season. Ashwin represented several other franchises in IPL history, including Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiants and Rajasthan Royals.

Ashwin retired from IPL ahead of the mini-auction and has now joined the official commentary team. Ashwin has joined the Hindi commentary team in a special edition called ‘Championswali Commentary’ on Geostar.
The former CSK spinner performed for CSK between 2008 and 2015, as they also won the IPL title in 2010 and 2011 under MS Dhoni. Hence, he joined the Championswali commentary team along with many other former IPL champions.

Other members who are part of the same commentary panel will include former IPL champions Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Aditya Tare, Anil Kumble, Piyush Chawla and Umesh Yadav and other former players like Irfan Pathan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virender Sehwag and Aakash Chopra.
The commentary starcast of IPL 2026 will include many former Indian and IPL cricketers. Former Indian stars like Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay Bangar, Ajay Jadeja, Mohammad Kaif, Saba Karim, Deep Dasgupta, Padmajeet Sehrawat, Anant Tyagi and Sunil Taneja will be part of the Hindi commentary box.
The English commentary box will include a number of IPL presenters and other former stars who have played in the IPL. AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, Faf du Plessis, Kevin Pietersen, Aaron Finch, Eoin Morgan, Michael Clarke, Mitchell McClenaghan and Deep Dasgupta are among the big names in English commentary.
It will also include famous voices behind the screen including Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle, Ian Bishop, Simon Doull, Daniel Morrison, Darren Ganga and Graeme Smith. Many other prestigious names will include Anjum Chopra, Alan Wilkins, Katie Martin and Murali Karthik.

Some of the prestigious names in Tamil commentary include former players Murali Vijay, S Badrinath and L Balaji. RJ Balaji will also be seen in the same role along with many other cricketers, famous RJs and Tollywood actors.

Hanuma Vihari, Krishnappa Gautam, Veda Krishnamurthy, Manvinder Bisla, Anil Chaudhary, Kiran More, Praveen Tambe, Jhulan Majumdar, Gautam Bhattacharya and Srijit Mukherjee are among the other panelists on the commentary team in Kannada, Haryanvi, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Bengali and other languages.
