Former Team India batsman Manoj Tiwari praised Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who registered his maiden T20I half-century for the India national cricket team against Zimbabwe in the first match of the ongoing 3-match T20I series in Harare.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a half-century at the age of just 15, breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who scored his first half-century for the national team at the age of 16. Manoj Tiwari said that he was impressed by Vaibhav’s dedication, hunger and desire to score runs while batting.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored his first 50 for India at the age of 15
Ahead of the second T20I against Zimbabwe, the former India cricketer said that he is seeing a future superstar in the making after Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his debut for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025.
After making his IPL debut, the Bihar-born batsman never looked back. On an individual basis, back-to-back successful IPL seasons, credible performances for the domestic cricket team, memorable innings for the Indian Under-19 team and finally selection to the national cricket team.
Within the time frame of barely a few years, Vaibhav’s rise to glory in international cricket has been like the emergence of a meteorite.
“What I see in him is the hunger, the dedication and the desire to perform well. The desire to score in every innings. It’s a moment of joy and celebration, and a big congratulations to him and his family members and his coach and all the Indian fans,” Manoj Tiwary said via PTI video.
“Since last year, the way he started in the IPL, this year too, the way he dominated throughout the IPL, we all knew what he is capable of and I was a bit surprised that he did not get a start in the Ireland series, where he was not played in the first two games, but finally he got a chance against England,” he said.
A super talented kid: Manoj Tiway on Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Manoj Tiwari noticed that whenever Vaibhav was out early in an innings, he looked very disappointed. This shows that the batsman feels the hunger to score runs in every match, whether it is for India or Rajasthan Royals.
