Confusion arose after Vijay Dahiya came into limelight after he was removed from the post of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokesperson. As abusive messages started reaching the Gujarat Titans assistant coach, Vijay Dahiya took to Instagram to clarify that he has no connection with the political activist.

The clarification attracted attention on social media as many users mistook the Gujarat Titans assistant coach for the sacked CJP spokesperson due to the similarity in their names.
Vijay Dahiya is a former Indian wicketkeeper, who represented the national team in two Tests and 19 ODIs between 2000 and 2001. He was also a member of the Indian team that finished runner-up in the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy.
Born on 10 May 1973 in Delhi, Dahiya enjoyed a successful domestic career before turning to coaching. He led Delhi to the Ranji Trophy title in 2007–08, ending the team’s 16-year wait for the championship. Before joining Gujarat Titans as an assistant coach, he has also worked with Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. He currently serves as the head coach of Uttar Pradesh cricket team and assistant coach of Gujarat Titans.
During his international career, Dahiya scored 216 runs in 19 ODIs, including one half-century, while also playing two Test matches for India.
