The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the full squad for India’s upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe starting from July 23. India will tour Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series with a group of emerging cricketers including Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
For the series, the selectors have made several interesting choices to decorate the team. Resting some of the regular players of the format, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel has provided chances to talents like Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav, Prabhsimran Singh and a few others. Rinku Singh has returned to the team after being out of the UK tour.

Leaving out Sanju Samson is one of the notable decisions taken by the selectors, while 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named for the series. Samson has recently been dropped from the Zimbabwe tour due to poor performance.
There has been talk of ousting Sanju Samson amid poor form.
In two matches against Ireland and one against England, Samson, the best player of the 2026 T20 World Cup tournament, failed to impress the management as in all three games, the keeper-batsman was out cheaply. From the current T20I squad, which is in England, Ravi Bishnoi is another player who has been largely left out.
The spinner was overlooked right after his expensive spell against England in Manchester. The match, which the Men in Blue could have easily claimed, was lost allowing the hosts to take a 1-0 lead in the ongoing 5-match T20I series. Set against Jacob Bethel, Bishnoi conceded 29 runs in the death overs.
Suryansh Shedge, another Punjab Kings batsman who has had impressive performances for the India A cricket team, has been named in the squad. Prabhsimran Singh will join the team as backup keeper-batsman and opener. For IPL team Punjab Kings and national team A, Prabhsimran Singh played as an opening batsman.
A group of young talents in a bowling pack
Experienced fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has also been dropped from the team. The burden of the fast bowling attack will be on many youngsters. Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma and Mayank Yadav are the fast bowlers who have been included in the national team for T20Is.
The responsibility of spin bowling attack will be on Harsh Dubey and Varun Chakraborty. There is Shivam Dubey and Suryansh Shedge for the all-round department.
