In view of the upcoming ODI World Cup in 2027, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly taken several decisions to improve its national cricket team. The board officials have planned an additional multi-team series ahead of the ODI World Cup as part of their preparations.

As per the latest reports, PCB is all set to arrange a multi-nation ODI tournament in August this year. Due to the proposed tournament, many stars of the Pakistan national cricket team may have to stay away from their commitments for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Pakistani cricketers’ commitment to CPL 2026 is in danger

At least seven players from the Men in Green have been signed for the upcoming CPL season. Due to the PCB’s plans for the upcoming months, players who were scheduled to feature in CPL 2026 with their respective franchises are likely to have their original schedule cancelled.

At the moment, no official confirmation has been issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the possible multi-team ODI tournament, where a total of four teams can take part. If the cricket board can successfully arrange the tournament, it would be a huge first for the ICC’s flagship event.
