The Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has ended, with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final to win their second consecutive trophy. After the IPL, international cricket is back, and amidst all this, franchises are looking to make some big trades during this period. Kuldeep Yadav has already said goodbye to Delhi Capitals (DC).
In a video uploaded from the social media handle of Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep Yadav said goodbye to the franchise as he was involved in the trade deal of Rishabh Pant along with Rs 15 crore to be given to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The left-arm wrist spinner has been a part of the DC franchise for the last five years.

Thank you for your service- Parth Jindal thanks Kuldeep Yadav
After DC uploaded the video and Kuldeep’s farewell comments, chairman and co-owner Parth Jindal tweeted on his official account, thanking Kuldeep Yadav for his service over the last five seasons. Jindal said that Kuldeep was an important part of the team and will be greatly missed.
The former player also wished the spinner all the best for his new journey. “Dear Kuldeep, thank you for your service at Delhi Capitals over the last 5 years, you have been a core part of our team and will be greatly missed,” Jindal tweeted on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Dear Kuldeep, thank you for your service in the last 5 years @DElhICAPITeaAlYou have been a core part of our team and will be greatly missed. Go well – you are a champion player and I am sure you will do very well on your home ground. Rishabh – Kiran and I both…

“Well go – you are a champion player and I am sure you will do very well on your home ground. Rishabh – Kiran and I both are happy to have you back in DC. Hope you find your best form in Delhi.”
Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav are back home
It is a homecoming for both the cricketers, as Rishabh Pant started his career in Delhi and then went to LSG for two seasons and will return to the team again. Kuldeep hails from Unnao, a district in Uttar Pradesh, and the franchise LSG is based in the same district, so Kuldeep will be back home in every sense, as he started his cricket career in UP.
Dr. Sanjiv Goenka had mentioned in an interview that Rishabh Pant would stay with the franchise for at least 10 seasons and win five trophies. But after two disappointing seasons, the southpaw resigned from the captaincy role and was also confirmed to be leaving the franchise, which is a major blow to the management.
Official announcement of both players will be soon
The official social media handle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) shared a post. The caption of the post read, “Announce that Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav have completed the high-profile trade between @DelhiCapitals and @LucknowIPL. Rishabh Pant is set to re-join #DC for Rs 15 crore, while Kuldeep Yadav will join #LSG for Rs 13.5 crore.”
However, LSG and DC are yet to announce their new arrivals on their official social media handles. Certain videos and graphics will be used to make their respective announcements. Fans should keep an eye out as the announcement could come in just a few days.
