Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth has made a bold announcement predicting the end of KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy’s international career as he claims there is no mystery left in his bowling.
Varun Chakravarthy has been KKR’s most reliable wicket-taker in the last few seasons. They had players like Mitchell Starc, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana, but Chakravarthy managed to defeat them all with his unreadable spin bowling. On the basis of his performance, he was also given a place in the Indian team and gained wide recognition.
However, the No. 1 ICC T20I bowler suffered a shocking collapse as he was thrashed by the batsmen in the second half of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Varun gave runs at an economy of around 12 and scored runs at an average of 45 in the last 5 matches. However, he continued to dominate the group stage and still finished as the leading wicket-taker at the World Cup.

“Your secret is history” – Kris Srikkanth
Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth has never left no stone unturned in launching a scathing attack against any player whom he feels is performing below the standards set by the player.
He has now attacked Indian co-KKR spinner, Varun Chakravarthy for his lack of ability to spin the ball away from the batsmen. He has told that without this ability he would never be able to threaten any batsman.
The former cricketer trolled Chakravarthy on his YouTube channel, saying, “Until Varun Chakravarthy learns to spin the ball and bowl leg-spin, he will continue to struggle. Just bowling googlies all the time won’t do. He has to bring some variations and keep the leg-spin going. There is no mystery with him anymore. Your mystery is history.”
Rohit Sharma has made a comeback in IPL with a bang. Sharma did not hesitate to dominate every bowler in the KKR lineup and played a match-winning inning of 78 runs. Sharma scored his half-century during the powerplay and set the stage for Mumbai Indians to chase that big target with ease.
“Bowl leg-spin and take the ball away from the batsmen. Only then will the batsmen fear you. First of all, they should not be given the ball in the powerplay.”
He said, “Rohit Sharma ended the match in his own over in the powerplay. Varun Chakraborty’s confidence broke there and after that he started bowling fast.”
Varun Chakravarthy conceded 15 runs in that over and Rohit looked confident as he opened the charge against the experienced spinner. He played some breathtaking shots against the KKR spinners, who failed to surprise him.
Mumbai Indians won their first match in IPL 2026, breaking the 13-year-old bond
It seems that Rohit Sharma has a habit of breaking 13 year old conflicts. He did the same for the Indian team when he led the Men in Blue to the World Cup title, ending a 13-year long wait since their victory in 2011.
This time the right-handed batsman helped Mumbai Indians end their win drought in the first game of the season after 13 years. Their last win came in 2012 and after 13 defeats, Mumbai Indians broke the humiliating record by defeating KKR at their home ground at Wankhede.
