According to reports, the apex body is expected to hold an emergency meeting via video link today to discuss the uncertainty surrounding the blockbuster India vs Pakistan ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match.

While announcing their participation in the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan government also announced that they will not play against India. Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has called for removing politics from sports while supporting the federal government’s decision to bar the Pakistani team from fielding arch-rivals India in the ongoing premier ICC tournament.
Pakistan has demanded three things to get more funding from the ICC, as they already get the fourth largest share after India, England and Australia, amounting to around US$34.5 million. They also want ICC to restart the bilateral series, which has been on hold since 2013.
The PCB has asked the ICC to resume handshake with Pakistan players to maintain the spirit of the game, which India had stopped after the Palgham terror attack last year. Now all eyes are on ICC to find a solution for the India vs Pakistan match. However, if the match does not take place, PCB will have to face serious consequences from the ICC.
